Identifying the Problem
Current EP methods taught in school
Through PE/CCE lessons
Through Uniform Group CCAs
Through conducting drills
Background
Currently, the conventional methods of emergency drills and theoretical instructions may not fully engage students or adequately prepare them for real-life emergencies. How might we improve the training and learning experience in acquiring emergency preparedness skills in schools?
Why are current EP methods taught in school ineffective?
Students do not take EP seriously
Students do not retain EP knowledge
Students only know how to help themselves
Learning Objectives
Importance of calling 995
Learning via Mobile
Learning CPR basics
Provide Various Simulations
Importance of Learning Through Phone
In a real case scenario, when someone collapses and requires CPR, instructions on CPR procedure would be given through 995. Although teaching the basics of CPR is important for students to get introduced to the process, the value comes in teaching students how to follow instructions via mobile phone.
The Idea
To introduce a 2-week event before Total Defence Day every year, dedicated to empowering emergency preparedness skills.
